A co-educational boarding and day school for 3-18 year olds providing the best of British education.
British education is known worldwide for its excellence. Now it is available in India too.
For the first time in India, a leading British private school – King’s College, Taunton, located in cricket-loving Somerset – is starting it’s campus in India to offer an identical education to the one received by children in the UK. But at a fraction of the cost.
King‘s College India is a British School, delivering a warm-hearted, academically excellent education, emphasizing the core values of integrity, honesty and compassion to ensure the development of the whole child. We are here to extend the 136-year-old legacy of King‘s College Taunton, UK.
King’s College India is now taking enrolments for children aged 3 to 18, mirroring the UK school system. Our aim is to create a British boarding and day school for boys and girls, aged 3-18.
The school will be affiliated to the Cambridge International Examinations board. Our curriculum will aim to generate academic excellence for and create a platform for later high-performing success at IGCSE levels. Although we will be seeking to bring out the best in every child academically, it will not be our only aim.
Of equal importance will be our holistic care of each child, which has at its heart the development of character and values. This will enable young men and women of real worth to emerge and play their part in leading their families, their communities and their country.
Our educational programmes will nourish each child spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically.
We have been inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s vision that concentration and the power of unity lies at the heart of all human development. For us, every child is a spiritual being, and each of us belongs to the same human family, no matter what our background, our upbringing or our religious affiliation.
In addition to academic lessons, our school day will be filled with sport, with artistic endeavour, with singing, with cultural understanding and with lessons on learning how human beings can best care for each other in a spirit of harmony and service.
King’s College Taunton Headmaster, Mr Richard Biggs, will sit on the main Board of Governors.
Mr David Boddy, formerly Chairman of the UK Society of Headteachers, has also agreed to serve on the Board of Governors, joining other governors from Strides Educational Charity in India.
The school will be inspected by the British Independent Schools Inspectorate and the Council of British International Schools.
UK-trained teachers will lead many aspects of school life and we will be working alongside our Indian colleagues to ensure the highest teaching standards and the strongest pastoral care.
We will be making available to Indian children 137 years of educational experience. Our UK students graduate into the world’s top universities, art colleges, drama schools and sports academies.
We will be ensuring that your children can do the same, harnessing along the way enormous benefits from a truly British education.
